Just in time for Spring, The Little Rabbit and The Little Duck have been released from Random House. Perfect for little hands, these board books are a must have.These books also make the perfect gift for Easter.As a child, I loved Judy Dunn's books, The Little Kitten, The Little Rabbit and The Little Duck. I'm thrilled that Random House has re-released this fabulous collection of books. I've enjoyed having the chance to read them with my little girl. Sure the pictures are throw back to the late 70's, early 80's, but they're pictures that kids today are sure to love, and enjoy looking at.The Phoebe Dunn Collection is now available in board books, which are just perfect for little hands.
This review is not pertaining to whether I enjoyed this book or not (I absolutely loved it as a child), it is only in relation to the contents of the Board Book. I wanted to make sure everyone is aware that the Board Book is severely edited, and is NOT the same as the original version of the book. It contains approximately half of the text and pictures of the paperback version, and in my opinion is missing many of the best photos. From the posting online, it is not necessarily clear that the Board Book is edited/ does not contain all of the original book contents, and had I have known that I would not have purchased it.
This is one of many wonderful Judy Dunn books -- we first got The Little Kitten (Pictureback(R)) and couldn't wait to find more. These are simple, sweet stories that accompany adorable, clear photography of children with their pets.If you've read a lot of books with your kids, you'll understand that not all are created equal. These are head and shoulders above MANY others -- No dorky rhymes, no annoying plots or stereotypes. My 3-6 year old children loved to ask questions about the kids in the pictures and learn about the animals gentle little adventures. These are precious little bits of sunshine on our bookshelf. Highly recommend.
This was one of my favorite books as a child. I would spend hours pouring over the pictures. The photos of the duck hatching are amazing yet simple. Children alway laugh with the blow drying of the duck, I was very pleased to find this book as an adult and to be able to share this book with my 5 and 1 year old who both equally enjoy it. The pictures are classic late seventies/ early eighties Very sweet nostalgia for parents. I used this book as a gift for all the guest at my daughters first birthday.
My son fell in love with this book when he was still a baby. He loved it until it wore out and was ragged. He still has it somewhere and he is 36! I found another copy of this book on Amazon and bought it for my grandson. I thought it would be special for my son to see his son with a copy. My son cried when he saw the book and took it for his own. He was that affected by his love for this story and the Little Duck. I recommend buying this book.

This was one of my favorite books as a child. I bought it for my one year old Grandson, who loves ducks and books, and he loved it.
Bought this to replace the copy I had had when I was little, my kid love it and my original copy was getting a bit mangled. We call it "Peep Squonk" because that i2 their favorite part, when Henry starts quacking. I also bought a copy for my niece. My children (2 and 4) love the photographs learning about how animals grow.
I love this book! I remembered it from my childhood, and bought it to share with a younger family member, so they could enjoy it too. Who can resist the image of the beautiful, fluffy, baby duck? Gorgeous and beautiful photos throughout the book and a cute story! Shows all the growing stages of the duck! Would reccomend this book for any child!
