Un vistazo a las vidas de cuatro mujeres con situaciones, creencias y estilos de vida muy diferentes bajo la misma cultura. Aunque algunas historias son tristes y conmovedoras, para mí fue muy interesante conocer un poco más de esta cultura y su forma de vida. No disfruté tanto el lenguaje en el que está escrito, pues me pareció pobre y algo forzado, además de que tiene algunos errores de edición; sin embargo, la lectura me mantuvo interesada.
Buena narrativa que muestra a través de la investigación realizada por su autora, las condiciones de esclavitud de la mujer en pleno siglo XXI en algunos paÃses del medio y lejano Oriente.La presentación de historias de vida de diferentes mujeres en estas sociedades patriarcales, da a conocer sus luchas por sobrevivir en medios totalmente hostiles para ellas.La falta de polÃticas de protección a la mujer y la injusticia social hacia ellas se ve amparada por el espÃritu machista de las leyes agazapadas en el respaldo que le dá la unión de la religión y el poder polÃtico, todo en detrimento de la mujer y en beneficio de una sociedad patriarcal machista guiada por la tradición y creencias ancestrales.
Interesante recuento de historias muy bien narradas que nos regala un gran aprendizaje de la historia y costumbres desde el Imperio otomano hasta la actualidad y nos permite evaluar la vida de la mujer turca que aún en este momento lucha por la igualdad de género. Vale la pena deleitarse con su lectura y aumentar nuestro conocimiento de TurquÃa.
Para mi ., aunque más o menos yo savia de los problemas por los que atraviesan las mujeres en estos paÃses en los cuales ellas no tienen voz y no se les permite decidir por ellas mismas son nada en sus hogares peor que sirvientas . Este libro En el Harem de Estambul , me mantuvo siempre interesada y no podÃa creer todo lo que susede . Afortunadamente hay algunas mujeres que logran liberarse.
UNA NOVELA DONDE SE REVELA LA CRUDEZA DE LA REALIDAD DE LA MUJER TURCA, DONDE LA SIGNIFICACION DE LA MUJER ESTA SUMIDA EN PREJUICIOS, ESTEREOTIPOS Y MACHISMO PROSAICO QUE TODAVÃA IMPERAN, A PESAR DE QUE LA NORMATIVIDAD LO PROHIBE. ES UNA SOCIEDAD DONDE IMPERAN INSTITUCIONES ECONÓMICAS Y POLÃTICAS EXTRACTIVAS Y NO INSTITUCIONES INCLUSIVAS. LA MUJER NO TIENE AUTONOMIA Y LIBERTADES Y SIEMPRE ESTA SUMISA PORQUE LA FAMILIA DETENTA LAS CONSIDERACIONES DE HONOR.
Es útil para entender la sociedad turca actual y la extraña diferencia entre la apariencia y lo que está detrás de la supuesta modernidad. La cultura machista prevalece y somete a las mujeres. Las 4 historias de vida pintan un muy buen retrato.
Lo compré pensando que era una novela. Es la historia de 3 mujeres turcas muy distintas. No me gustó la redacción del libro, pero es informativo.
Es un libro muy interesante , muestra la realidad actual de las mujeres en Turquia desde tres puntos de vista de tres diferentes mujeres. Una muy tradicional que se ajusta a las leyes del Islam, otra que quiere progresar pero que sufre porque mo puede llevar el velo a la Universidad por leyes del gobierno y la tercera una mujer totalmente occidentallizada con gustos capitalistas y viviendo en una parte de Turquia que no refleja el resto del pais. Me gusto mucho porque me abrio las puertas para interesarme por paises lejanos de los cuales yo por lo menos sabia muy poco
