An interesting book for those who want to know a little more about what was in confrontation in WW2
Well Done. About what I expected.
The book arrived in great condition.This is a new publication, but I think more research need s to be done on identifying the vehicles. I think this is a good desk reference for a beginner. It doesn't spend a lot of time/space per subject. Offers a good color depiction of the subject, and how and when they were used. For the more experienced historians or model makers, there is too little in the way of photo reference.
This book is a great identification guide for tanks and armored cars of the World War II era. This shows details of the organization between tank battalions and the armies of the Allied forces. This book shows the fronts of Poland, North Africa, Italy, France, and the Rhine. This book may not be interesting to people who do not like the military. I find this book is perfect for historians and people who like tanks and military tactics.
The russians and the germans had the best armoured vehicles in WW11. But the Sherman tank made up for its shortcomings in quantity. They could not stand up the german tanks one on one, but when they attacked in force, they could achieve success. The russian tanks were every bit as good as the german machines. The british tanks did not stand up well against the german machines either. The armour on the american and british tanks did fare very well against the german tanks main guns. The russians on the other hand created tanks that stood up well to the german guns. JRV
